FG to Meet With NUPENG, PENGASSAN

The Federal Government is expected to meet representatives of the striking oil workers today in Abuja to try to resolve the issues that led to the industrial action.

The strike by the members of NUPENG and PENGASSAN has led to fuel scarcity in parts of the country, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Reports across the country indicated that there was a substantial compliance to the strike.

The depots in Ejigbo, Apapa, Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna did not witness the loading of Petroleum Products.

President of PENGASSAN, Francis Johnson said the workers are protesting the non-passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill, non-repair of the refineries and anti-labour practices by some oil companies.
